About Us

We negotiate CBAs that ensure high-quality jobs & community benefits

At Jobs to Move America, we work to advance equitable family-sustaining jobs, expand access to training for historically disadvantaged groups, and ensure long-term and sustainable benefits for workers and communities when public dollars are spent. Community benefit agreements are a tool to ensure concrete benefits for workers and communities. JMA has successfully negotiated CBAs that create high-quality, inclusive jobs in the manufacturing sector.

The Community Benefits Agreement Resource Center (CBARC) is a program of JMA that seeks to meet this critical moment and advance the negotiation of effective and equitable CBAs.

What guides our work

Our Operating Principles

CBARC is guided by and adheres to Jobs to Move America’s Mission, Vision and Values. JMA and CBARC do not accept financial support from companies and employers. CBARC will engage with companies and industry stakeholders on a case-by-case basis. We work with companies that want to engage in good faith, high-road discussions with the community, can agree to a memorandum of understanding to guide the CBA process, and a desire to work with impacted community stakeholders including labor, environmental justice, and racial equity organizations.

Remembering Jay Mehta

Jay’s passing leaves a deep void in our hearts and our community, where he made an undeniable mark through his dedication, passion, and commitment to justice and equity.

Jay was more than just a colleague—he was a vital force who inspired and uplifted those around him.
